How to Clean Natural Air Regenerator Ozone Plates

Purification Plate Installation and Removal

The Natural Air utilizes two purification plates.

To Remove

Remove lint screen retainer screws. Remove lint screen panels. Carefully remove each purification plate from the card cage by pushing the flexible clip off the top of the plate. Then grasp the top edge of the plate and slowly pull it straight up.

To Install

1. Carefully push back the plate retainer clip and center the plate above the purification plate alignment bars. Slide the plate downward until it stops and push the plate retainer clip back into position.

2. Verify that the metal contacts are touching the stainless steel mesh on both side of the plate.

3. Replace lint screen access panels and replace lint screen retainer screws.

ATTENTION! Fully close lint screen access panels to depress safety switches or the unit will not operate.

How do Natural Air Regenerators Work?

The short answer is that the Natural Air Regenerator replicates what is done by “Mother Nature” outdoors through the natural processes brought forth by radiation from the sun and earth, lightning, rain and other factors.

The Natural Air Regenerator produces negative ions which are naturally charged particles. These particles attach to dust mites, smoke, skin flakes and other airborne pollutants. It makes the pollutants too heavy to float, so they cannot stay in the air. It is the same reason air feels so fresh when you are near a waterfall.

Many people ask us what kind of filter does Natural Air use. And the answer is that it doesn’t. That’s because Natural Air is not a filter, it is an air regenerator. There is no filter to change or replace. It does have a fan, but the fan’s purpose is not to bring pollutants and odors into the machine, but to send the “air regenerating ions” out to destroy pollutants and odors at their source.

What are Natural Air Regenerators?

Why is "fresh air" fresh?

A big, deep breath of fresh mountain or seashore air. Makes you feel good physically, mentally, and spiritually, doesn't it?

Scientists are attempting to discover just why it is that, say after a thunderstorm, people seem so energized. Or why when a dry hot wind blows off the desert people seem to irritable.

They've learned that one reason for that good feeling is the "balance" of elements (including Ozone and negative ions) in the air we breath. When the air is "balanced" or regenerated by lightning and moving water (waterfalls or ocean waves) our mood is light and spirits lifted. When the air is "unbalanced" by pollutants such as dust, bacteria, chemicals, etc., we're discomforted -- our moods are darker, we don't feel as good as we think we should.

The beauty of negative ions

If the manufacturer says the air cleaner will clean 1,000 square feet should I believe this?

Actually the preferred method of rating air purifiers is the CADR which is based on how fast the air cleaner or air purifier cleans the air in a sealed room. This is a useful rating for comparing one air cleaner to another. The problem with this concept is that we don't live in sealed rooms. The truth is that you cannot predict how clean the air will be in your house based solely on the CADR. Nobody's home is perfectly sealed, doors open and close, and particles are generated by virtually any activity within the house. So, the number of particles floating in your home air is the result of a constantly shifting balance between particles entering the home, being generated within the home, natural settling, and active removal by air cleaning devices.

How is Natural Air Regenerator better than other air filters?

Natural Air is not an air filter, it is an air regenerator and does not use filters in its freshening, cleansing process. Filters strain particulates out of the air. The effectivness of a filter depends on its ability to stop particulates of certain sizes, the smaller the better. Pollen, for example, is from 10-100 microns in size, animal dander from .3 to 10 microns; lung damaging dust from .5-5 microns in size. Cigarette smoke, for example, is .01-1 microns in size and only the finest filters can remove it from passing air.* Filters trap particulates in their fibers or screens. As the filter becomes loaded with trapped particulates, more and more fan power is required to move the air, and less and less air moves through it. Filters must be replaced or cleaned to maintain efficiency. Natural Air regenerates the natural qualities of Mother Nature's best air. It does not filter it. It
purifies by sending is natural air-freshening agents out into the room and home.

I have asthma/allergies. Will Medicare pay for a Natural Air Regenerator unit?

Again, Natural Air is not a medical device. However, if your doctor writes a prescription for an "air cleaner" or similar description, Medicare may (and we stress the word "may") approve the expense.

Does Natural Air Regenerator meet FDA standards as a "medical device"?

Natural Air Regenerator is NOT a medical device and makes no health claims.

Since Natural Air Regenerator doesn't use a filter that would show me what it has removed from the air, how do I know its working?

First, smell the difference in the room where Natural Air is placed. Second, notice how quickly offensive odors and smoke (as from cigarettes or the fireplace) disappear. Third, check the next time the sun sends a beam of light through the window. You'll see fewer "floaties," especially the sparkly kind of sluffed off skin. Finally, notice how much better you and your family feel; spirits and energy levels a little higher.

Should I move the Natural Air unit into my child's bedroom when he/she has a cold or flu?

Couldn't hurt. For generations, physicians have recommended "taking the air" -- breathing fresh outdoor air and in the sun as a assist toward good health. Natural Air simply regenerates the cleansing elements of Mother Nature.

Will Natural Air remove and keep mold out of our basement?

Mold grows best in damp and dark environments typical of many below-ground basement rooms. The key to eliminating mold is eliminate the moisture. This may require the application of some form of vapor or water barrier to the below-ground surfaces and/or the use of a de-humidifier. A Natural Air unit will help in mold control.
